Zodiac Tattoos Designs-Zodiac Tattoo Signs Ideas
Zodiac signs for tattoos are very popular. However these symbols are also used for many other purposes. What better way to find a tattoo that represents you than a zodiac tattoo.
The Zodiac symbols most frequently used in the United States, as Zodiac tattoo signs as well as for other items, are the Greek-Roman system. There are twelve different signs but they aren’t for each of the twelve months. Instead, each symbol represents a specific date of birth from one month until a specific day of the next. No matter which month you were born, the date will determine which of the Zodiac signs you were born under and which of the tattoos of zodiac symbols will match your sign.
Common locations for the astrological sign tattoos are on the hips, chest, shoulders, or on the back. Each sign of the zodiac has a coordinating name and symbol. For instance, if you were born under the sign of Leo, you would be represented by the lion and would look at zodiac Leo tattoos. A zodiac Cancer tattoo would, on the other hand, be represented by a crab.
There is more to the symbolism of the zodiac signs than just a different image to represent it. Other may learn a lot about you by your zodiac tattoo symbol. Astrological sign tattoos can also tell others details about your personality. For instance, a person wearing one of the zodiac tattoos, Cancer, would be expected to be a shrewd person who is also jealous and moody. In other words, you might have a tendancy to occasionally be a little crabby!
Another reason that a person might think it is a good idea to wear their astrological tattoo designs is that some signs are supposed to be more compatible with others. Not everyone thinks this is a valid assumption. Others are strong believers that the signs you were born under will influence every facet of the rest of your life!
Another thing to think about when considering zodiac signs for tattoos is that they are just as diverse in pattern and in the intricacy of design as any other type of tattoo. Some of the tattoos of zodiac symbols are quite simple, while others are greatly detailed to give realism to the animal that represents it. If you are born under the sign of Scorpio, then your birth sign is represented by a scorpion. While some astrological sign tattoos would depict a basic drawing of a scorpion, some people want only those that have their tail positioned at a certain degree and with a realistic venomous appeal!
A good rule of thumb would be to use your own birth sign when getting a zodiac tattoo and not use one belonging to a spouse or any other person close to you. Even if you have their name printed underneath the tattoo, they may not be there one day and you will probably find that, even if they are, you are likely to get tired of wearing a symbol of someone else’s personality!
Tattoos of zodiac symbols are one of the best tools you have available for creating a tattoo that is unique and specific for you. It will let the world know what type of person you are, who you are compatible with, and even what your best color is! Some people choose to use black ink for their astrological tattoo design, but using color will tell people much more about your fashion flair!
Some basic info on the zodiac
Briefly, there are a number of viewable constellation patterns of stars on a belt, or strip of constellations, on a path of the earth around the sun. We’ve all seen them in the sky, we’ve been taught about them since childhood.
There are 12 sections of the belt and each section has a constellation with a pattern and a story or myth behind it. They are all well known and are as follows:
1. Aquarius the Water Bearer
2. Pisces the Fish
3. Aries the Ram
4. Taurus the Bull
5. Gemini the Twins
6. Cancer the Crab
7. Leo the Lion
8. Virgo the Virgin
9. Libra the Scales
10. Scorpio the Scorpion
11. Sagittarius the Archer
12. Capricorn the Goat
We have all been taught our specific zodiac symbol (based on our birthday) since a young age. There is a hell of a lot more information on the internet regarding these symbols and star signs. I don’t want to go to much more into that in this article as we are supposed to be talking about tattoos.
If you’ve set your heart on a zodiac tattoo design, be creative. If your star sign is Aries you don’t necessarily have to have a big bull tattooed on your chest! What are you going to do if you’re a Sagittarius? Get Robin Hood emblazoned on your back? Who fancies a crab on their forearm? You get the picture.
All of the star signs are associated with the elements and are grouped as follows:
1. Fire – Aries/Leo/Sagittarius
2. Earth – Taurus/Virgo/Capricorn
3. Air – Gemini/Libra/Aquarius
4. Water – Cancer/Scorpio/Pisces
So, if you’re a Leo, and you don’t necessarily want a lion tattoo, you could created a zodiac tattoo design based around fire and flames. Like I said, be creative, there are a plethora of designs already out there to get you motivated. Speak to your local tattoo artist and he/she will be able to give you even more advice.
